When I'm looking for a school for my child do I look for one where the teachers are treated with respect and their professional judgment honored or one where teachers are chasing  test scores? 

Do I want a school where my child learns geography, visual arts, music, history, science and has recess or do I want my child in a narrowed down math/reading pressure cooker? 

Do I want a school where the principal is engaged or one where he/she is called down to central for meetings  so much he's out of touch?

"no SERVE", smaller class sizes, teacher autonomy, the arts,  no business round table agenda, etc.
